In the area of signal processing, many signals we encounter are non-stationary, such as radar signals, seismic waves and sonar signals etc. The traditional Fourier analysis is a transform in full-time domain;it can't describe in time-frequency domain the signal properties, which are important and crucial for a non-stationary signal. It is for this reason that people study and propose a series of novel signal analyzing methods and theories. In 1980, Namias introduced the theory of fractional power of Fourier transform, a generalized Fourier transform, called FrFT(Fractional Fourier transform), which is a new Time-Frequency analysis tool. The focus of studying FrFT abroad is mainly on its fundamental theory and applications in optical signal processing, and they've made considerable progress. Domestically speaking, on the contrary, the research in FrFT started only recently. In view of this condition, this paper focuses mainly on the fundamental theory and digital computation of FrFT and, with the non-stationary chirp as the object, studies SAR MTD and Imaging. The corresponding simulation results and analysis are given.
