Large area of images can be obtained in a short time by using the technique of Doppler Beam Sharpening (DBS) .Moving Target Detection (MTD) is a hot topic in the area of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and plays an important role in both martial field and civilian field. This paper mainly deals with the DBS imaging method, MTD in the single channel mechanical scanning radar, and MTD and parameter estimation in the single channel strip-mode radar. The main content of this dissertation are summarized as below:Firstly, the theory of DBS imaging is addressed, and a DBS imaging method incorporating the range walk migration correction is also proposed, which can effectively improves the image quality of the high scan angle.Secondly, the theory of MTD in the single channel mechanical scanning radar is discussed, and a moving target location method is also presented, this method is applicable for the single channel mechanical scanning-mode, which locates the moving target based on the fact that the amplitude of the moving target echo will be modulated by the antenna pattern. At last, the MTD method based on the Wigner-Ville Distribution (WVD) and another MTD method based on the Fractional Fourier Transform (FRFT) are studied, and a comparison is also made between the two methods. It is pointed out that the MTD method based on the WVD is strongly affected by the cross-terms in a negative way, and the MTD method based on the FRFT is more effective.
