Pulse-doppler radar is wide used, which utilizes the doppler frequency shift between the target and the radar to have the target information processed. It has a higher capability of distinguishing the speed. It can efficiently eliminate the interference of the ground clutter. The ground clutter characteristic influences the PD radar greatly.In this thesis, the principle of pulse-doppler radar and its signal features, the principle of choosing the best pulse repetition frequency, the theory of coherent, FFT method, window functions and the theory of radar cross section (RCS) are discussed in detail based on the analysis of the PD radar system. Too much emphasis has been laid on the theory and arithmetic range-doppler cell. Based on the fling instance of airplane which carried the radar, the paper chooses the middle pulse repetition frequency as it's studying object, coherent pulse as it's transmitting signal and Hamming window as it's window function. The plan of processing the signal is presented. Using the method of range-doppler cell, the ground clutter is simulated. Applying an airplane which flying with an invariableness speed in beeline as studying target, the paper supplies the analyse and simulation of an ideal dot target's echo, and gives the simulation of echo in frequency-field and time-field.
