Despite the alluring promise of the Internet as the convergence channel for delivery of all types of media, it is obvious that there are many challenges that must be addressed to ensure consistent delivery to the end-user. New types of networks are being built to specifically address these needs-Content Delivery Networks(CDNs), which is an intermediate layer of infrastructure that helps to efficiently deliver the ever increasing content from content providers to alarge community of geographically distributed clients. The research subject of the dissertation is the key function layer of the CDN network-Router layer. In this Paper, a new Content-Based routing protocol based on overlay network is presented. Details of the network architecture and request routing infrastructure are designed.Chapter 1 is the introduction. The traditional technology of content routing is given. Then we present content routing algorithm based on Overlay Network. In Chapter 2, after analyse the structure of Internet, A layered overlay networks for large-scale CDN is proposed, also putting forword the notion of local request being served by local server.Chapter 3 presents the network architecture and request routing infrastructure for CDN network based on Overlay Network. Then we classify overlay nodes into three different kinds of nodes and define the function of each node.Chapter4 summerize IP QoS technology and presents Overlay QoS by compare it with IP Qos. Then we study the possibility of muti-path situation and propose Qos-aware routing algorithm in muti-path situation. Finally, the conclusion and epilogue are given. The main work of the dissertation is concluded. The fields of the CDN route system, which need to be studied deeply, are mentioned.
