Since 1990s, Internet has developed greatly and WWW has been a huge pool of distributed information. It provides the customers with valuable information on one hand. However, on the other hand, the tremendous explosion of information has made it hard for customers to find what they really need. Therefore, the demand on personalized product has expanded increasingly. Personalized product can satisfy customer's requirement much better and improve the service quality of product.Under such circumstance, this paper firstly discusses the multi-agent technology, customized recommendation technology and meta-data technology. Also, it describes the main J2EE technology, such as EJB and JMS and so on. This system takes advantage of agent's intelligence and cooperation skills. According to customer's requirement, the system transforms the original information space and divides it into various personalized units. It greatly reduces the distance between the customer and the corresponding information entity; broaden the distance of the irrelative information entity. As a result, it improves the overall efficiency of content service and satisfactory degree of the service.After the deep discussion on personalized content service and related technology, the paper switch to research on how to apply the current technology to customize the digital TV. There are some similarities between customization on the digital TV platform and the one on the web. However, taking the characteristics of the platform of the digital TV into consideration, the multi-agents structure, metadata expression, features extraction and the digital TV-oriented recommendation methods are explained in the paper. Our creative and key point lies in making use of these traditional personalized technologies to digital TV. This paper goes to great lengths to discuss the design of agents and how they interact with each other.At last, the paper gives a simple summary of digital TV-oriented personalized content service system, points out the creative point and the shortage of the prototype. It describes a graceful prospect for digital TV-oriented personalized content service system.
