Digital city is the prospecting trend of the city informatization construction. Strongly supported by information science, City GIS (Geography Information System) has developed rapidly and been broadly applied in many government administrations. However, at the Beginning term of Digital City construction ,it lacked unified regulation of building GIS that cause the difficulty of spatial data sharing and interacting between various departments. Nowadays, one of the most significant research subjects related to Digital City is how to build a unified platform on which data can share and interact by making use of the established GIS .It is common that many GIS adopt diverse data structure and processing techniques to develop their system, there are great differences between GIS system .Therefore, data regulation and system integration are main issues of this subject.The expatiation is shown in the paper firstly about the concept and framework of Digital city and comparative study of development of Spatial information fundamental platform of digital city at home and abroad. On this basis, the essay firstly propose a framework of Spatial Information fundamental platform in Baoshan District based on SIG (Spatial Information Grid) with 4 layers that include Grid communication layer, Grid recourses layer, Grid service layer and Application System service layer. Furthermore, spatial data standard in Baoshan District was made and sharing database that include basically spatial information database, professional application database was designed. Finally, the essay propose a design about the coregrid service -----datagrid service that include datagrid groupware, datagridcommunication protocol and datagrid activity. Baoshan District is constructing the Spatial information fundamental platform based on the framework and methods in the paper on which basically spatial data and profession data for common sharing requirement has been able to share and interact smoothly in the region of Baoshan District.
