Since the first field emission display (FED) prototype was invented successfully in 1980s, research of FED has rapidly. A good few key technologies have been broken through in high quality FED materials including field emission cathode arrays (FEA) ,phosphor layers of anode screens .But only a few research and development (R&D) in special power supply, special driving circuit of FED were reported. This paper aims at above-mentioned problems of FED, and is composed of three parts:1. With reference principles of high frequency switching power and pulse-width modulation (PWM), two special high-voltage switching power for diode and transistor structures FED was designed and manufactured, including function of over-current protection and automatic regulation voltage.2. For working voltage of FED is very high, no driving IC can be used. So we designed a special driving circuit of FED with some single electronical elements. It can reduce voltage of FED anode and effectively restrain the interference on the anterior digital circuits, which originates from the back stag high voltage.3. The scan and addressing mode were discussed, and their driving circuits were designed. It uses a particular processing mode: blank pixels' cathodes are inflicted high voltage, which can effectively eliminate optical crosstalk of adjacent pixels.
