Generate Xml-based Web Report

As a strong means of information organization and analysis,reports play a great role in enterprise information system.It is stated that about 60 per of system applications are relevant with reports.More and more reports application will be developed and run under the Web enviroment, thus researching and producing the designing tool and supporting component of web reports have been one important study subject of the software development tools in order to improve the efficiency and quality of the Web reports.There are some common reports development tools such as Data Report of the Visual Basic and Designer Quick Report,some domestic tools such as Open Report and so on .These tools have own features in working principle, using style,and function. But there arc many defects. Reports format is usually saved by privacy format ,can be browsed in its own tool only .The application architecture does not fit for the Internet. There are many questions in download, communication, security etc.Web reports In this paper is a complex application combined with database query ,stats,analysis.It solves the problem how to combine the traditional client /server with web.thus having the virtue of client/server and the open feature and standard of web technology.The crucial technology is database integration,that is to say,how to apply database technology for Web.For the time being.much work has been done on Web database integration. In this paper .we refer its architecture and design the xsl/xml architecture.we take two steps to realize reports application development.Logic design responds for defining the access request of report data and designing reports style,and generates report style file and query definition file . physical design gets data by former definition,and output it by specific reports style.
