The Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging technique is related with radar, electronic engineering, and digital signal processing. The appearing and development of SAR enlarge the traditional application of radars. With the development of SAR imaging technique and the improvement of SAR imaging quality, SAR has been an important tool for scientific research and remote sensing. It will take on a supreme future in both military and civil.The Synthetic Aperture Radar Imaging Technology is studied in accordance with the research project. At first, the technique characteristics, developments and application of SAR are reviewed briefly. The main task of the study is also summarized here. Next the thesis concisely introduces the principle of SAR, the resolution of range direction and azimuth direction, result of the impulse compression and the principle model. Then the R-D imaging algorithm and Range migration correction are studied, and we can know well it through the imaging of point target. After that, approaches for the estimation of the doppler centroid frequency and the doppler frequency rate for SAR data are given. The effectiveness of these methods have been demonstrated by experimental results. Last, in the conclusion section, the whole work is summarized, and personal opinion about this study is given.
