As a new research area, information hiding in audio signal is rapidly developed in recent years and widely used in many application areas. So it is necessary to do research on the technologies for information hiding in audio signal.This paper studies information hiding in audio signal by quantifying the amplitude of the transform domain coefficient and does some amelioration for the system communicated in analog circumstance. Experimental results demonstrate that the algorithms have good robustness and imperceptibility at the attack of noise stain, sampjing" again, recording again. The information can be detected without the original audio. It is possible that the algorithm is applied to analog circumstance.The main research works of this paper are as follows:(l)This paper reviews the relative issues and current research status of information hiding in audio signal.(2)This paper selects the algorithm by quantifying the amplitude of the transform domain coefficient and uses this algorithm in the discrete Fourier domain and the discrete cosine domain. The information can be detected without the original audio.(3)The performance of this algorithm can be improved by combining the discrete wavelet transform with the discrete cosine and marking full use of the characteristic of the two transforms. Experimental results of comparing the capability of three algorithms demonstrate that the algorithm combining DWT and DCT is better.(4) This algorithm is improved for the system communicated in analog circumstance. Those are as follows: choosing audio area in speech for information hiding; appending some synchronized signal; appending some standard signal for recording again. Finally, the paper points out some further research directions on the research of information hiding algorithm.(5) This paper designs the software for the communicating system with hiding information using VC++ 6.0 and makes a foundation for the farther work.
