Passive detection system has long ranging, high concealing and survival ability, due to not emitting electromagnetic wave. In recent years, many new techniques have been developed. Because of the little information available, the conventional passive location techniques for direction finding are low in speed and precision, which often makes it difficult to fulfill the practical requirements for location specifications. Therefore, the research on passive location necessitates the introduction of new measurement to explore innovative passive location methods.This thesis studies the time difference-frequency difference location system with high speed and precision. The location accuracy is analyzed and simulated by computer for different parametric measurement errors and different target heights. Then, the thesis analyzed some methods estimating the time difference-frequency difference for different types of signal to improve the estimation accuracy. At last, the thesis summarizes the simulation results and forecasts the development of the passive location system.
