The Infrared Image Processing

In order to improve the performance of the reconnaissance system which is composed of infrared detector and short range surveillance radar, the image from small caliber non-refrigerated infrared detector and its processing algorithms are studied in this paper.1, The characteristics of infrared image is analyzed according to the forming process of infrared image. Infrared imaging and white light image in poor illumination are compared and the conclusion is that infrared imaging could be processed by image enhancement algorithm.2, Infrared image processing is studied according to image enhancement algorithm and the visual effect is obtained well. Base on it, the combinatorial processing algorithm is applied to infrared image processing and it is more effective.3, According to the vision constancy theory, it is studied that Retinex algorithm is applied to infrared image processing. It is showed that Retinex algorithm can be used for infrared image processing. The Retinex algorithm is effective on infrared image.
