Infrared imaging system has many advantages, and has been used widely in military and civilian fields. Some western developed countries invested heavily in infrared imaging system research, and already began to develop the third generation IR imaging system.As the western countries'technology blockade on China, our country's lack on the research of basic infrared theories and the material technique lag, our country has just begun developing the second generation of infrared focal plane arrays detector and infrared imaging system machine.With the background of the medium-wave infrared staring system project, some image algorithms, which are based on domestic high-defective IR detector are researched in this paper. The purpose of this paper is to develop a medium-wave infrared staring system, which can process data in real time and is comparable to the third-generation thermal imager of the western developed countries. It will celebrate the application of infrared imaging system in our country's military and civilian fields.Firstly, the performance and imaging features of domestic high-defective infrared detector are analyzed, and the hardware structure and the image algorithm module process of the medium-wave infrared staring systems are designed in this paper. Then, some image enhancement algorithms are researched, such as the non-uniformity correction algorithm, the non-effective pixels compensation algorithm, the inter-frame filtering algorithm, the median filtering algorithm, the contrast enhancement algorithm, the detail enhancement algorithm and so on. And some new image algorithms are brought up, which are adaptive for the domestic high-defective detector. Finally, the various image processing algorithms are implemented in FPGA and DSP, and the debugging work of the medium-wave infrared staring system has been done.Ultimately, the medium-wave infrared staring system has realized the real-time detecting, and has good imaging results.
