Digital Watermarking Technology In Video Certification

As a method for digital multimedia protection, digital watermarking has developed rapidly in recent years and it has been regarded as an effective solution to solve the security problem of multimedia. Digital watermarking is used for copyright protection, authentication of multimedia and so on. However, currently available video watermarking technique is far beyond mature yet compared with the still image watermarking. This thesis focused on video authentication watermarking algorithm including content authentication and complete authentication based on MPEG-l/2.Experiments are performed to test the effectiveness of proposed algorithms. The main research work and contributions of this thesis are summarized as follows:(1) Firstly introduces the origin, the development, the framework, the classification and application of digital watermarking. Summarily describes the characteristic, proposed algorithms and the benchmark of the video watermarking based on the MPEG-1/2 encoding/decoding system. Detailedly discusses the classification, the realization and the watermarking method of video authentication.(2) Proposes a novel localized watermarking algorithm for video authentication after plenty of research work on content authentication. The algorithm is based on macroblock so that the capacity of the watermark is enhanced greatly. Experiments show that the algorithm is robust to legal video processing and malice attacks can be localized in the level of macroblock.(3) Introduces invertible/reversible watermarking to video complete authentication, in this means, the watermark can be totally subtracted from the original video. The video after authentication is exactly the same compared with the original video to realize the proper complete authentication. Watermarking algorithm is combined with MPEG system in order to avoid the video bitstream increasing.
