With the popularization of network and communication, embedded system has become the focus of application and research. uClinux, the MCU's Linux system, a embedded OS with open sources, compared with VxWorks,Psos the higher price embedded OS. uClinux has been using widely on embedded device specially on network. There are so many great advantages in embedded system application, suCh as open source, stability, powerful network functions , excellent file system and low cost, can be tailored smaller or appended larger easily according to users application. First, author analyzed and research the kernel theory of uClinux OS, grasp uClinux kernel struCture, then study open documents on uClinux in uClinux public website and many experiences of present uClinux application, designed a MP3 which base on MCF5249 strong function in audio appliance ,a ColdFire V2 CORE 32bit MCU--Freescale Ctd produCt, and the special "uClinux"embedded OS which have several important changes by author. This paper detail describes the implement porting embedded OS uClinux with the MCF5249C3. The hard software platform is MCF5249 MCU from Freescale Ctd. Author's himself effort as follows: uClinux modification, TCP/IP Protocol Stack Porting into MCF5249 to fast Bootloader, uClinux Porting into MCF5249 by network, driver codes writing, MP3 application codes writing and the whole debugging and testing through uClinux cross complier ability and network promote-debug ability. The MP3 with uClinux OS based on MCF5249C3 has suCcessfully developed. This paper is some summary and experiences on solving Porting uClinux into MCF5249, specially the nodus of portinf uClinux ——Bootloader, making improvement bootloader, driver codes writing and debugging, MP3 using audio block of MCF5249.At the same time, author analyzed uClinux kernel, grasp well the kernel struCture. This paper has great meaningful experience in uClinux application also MCF5249 application.
