High power microwave is a kind of pulse which power is more than 1 GW. In recent years a kind of project between Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment and high power microwave is developed at home and abroad. It is called medium power microwave (MPM). The project adopts medium power microwave plus amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, phase modulation and other forms to constitute "super interference machine". Because of the back door coupling effects do a lot of damage to electronic devices and systems and is difficult to protect, this dissertation focuses on the back door coupling effects of different kinds of signal wave forms of high power microwave and medium power microwave with modulation into a cavity through slots. A two-dimensional FDTD simulation model and a three-dimensional FDTD simulation model are developed and detailedly analyzed with finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. Computer simulations and the results are given to verify the efficiency of the models. Through studying the back door coupling effects, we draw some conclusions of what influence of energy coupling into cavity through slots with different pulse width and different kinds of wave forms is. The main contributions of this dissertation are as follows: 1 A two-dimensional FDTD simulation model and a three-dimensional FDTD simulation model are developed and detailedly analyzed with finite difference of time domain (FDTD) method. Several key problems such as perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary conditions, introducing of incident plane wave to computational domain, introducing of scattering body to computational domain are detailedly analyzed. 2 Simulation software is developed based on the above FDTD models, and numerical experiments are made to verify the correctness of the models. 3 Numerical experiments of back door coupling effects of different kinds of signal wave forms of high power microwave and medium power microwave with modulation into a cavity through slots are carried out and some conclusions are drawn. Through studying the back door coupling effects, we draw some conclusions. These conclusions include the relations between energy of different kinds of incident plane wave forms coupling into cavity and distance to entrance, relations...
