A 'fractal'is a recursively generated structure by iterated function systems. It has a fractional dimension and possesses a self-similarity property. The concept of a 'fractal'has been applied to antenna design in order to reduce the size of antenna and obtain multi-band frequency operation. Fractal antennas have broad application prospect in military and civil application. The firstly chapter of this thesis, the history background is introduced, the concept of a 'fractal'is applied to the domain of antennas, and then the author summarizes the basic ways and means of modern antennas research. Ultimately introduces the framework and content of this thesis. In the second chapter following, the author elaborates on the concept of a 'fractal'and defines the bandwidth. Simultaneity, iterated function systems is applied to analyze this transforming process of a few representative 'fractal'antennas. In the end of this chapter, the author summarizes the developing situation and point out that the 'fractal'antennas have been obtained a great deal of production in the overseas while beginning in our country. The representative Koch curve wire is investigated in the third chapter. The characteristic of size reduction and independence frequency is researched by NEC which is based on the Mom. Koch inverse L antenna and Yagi antenna are made use of research the miniature technology of antennas. These production illuminates that the appliance of Koch curve wire has unique function in the miniature technology field. At the end of this chapter, Koch curve wire is extended to common methods. The double bent wire monopole antenna is put forward and its geometry parameters are investigated. Sierpinski microstrip antenna is paid attention widely owing to its simple arts and crafts. At the same time, Sierpinski microstrip antenna is integrated with the system expediently. In the fourth chapter of this thesis, the multi-band frequency operation is obtained and its geometry parameters are researched by employing CST which is based on finite integral technology. In the end, the author put forward a new direction . The characteristic of size reduction is made use of designing smart antennas in order to use smart antennas in the mobile equipment.
