In this paper, the applications of Koch fractal, tree-like fractal, Minkowski fractal and Sierpinski fractal in antennas are studied. The input impedance and pattern of Koch fractal monopole and tree-like monopole are analyzed. Both experimental and numerical results show that the two kinds of antennas both have the characteristics of reduction in size and the tree-like fractal monopole also has multiband behavior. The Koch fractal is also applied to small loop antenna and the analysis results show that the Koch fractal can improve the input resistance of small loop antenna. Minkowski fractal is applied to resonant loop and the results of simulation and measurement show that the Minkowski fractal can drop resonant frequency of the square loop antenna. Finally, the Sierpinski monopole is simulated by method of moment and wire-grid model with its multiband behavior verified.
