| Video conference is a kind of interactive real-time communication service on IP networks to transfer point-to-point or point-to-multipoint audio, video and data. The Video conference system transfers the audio and video information on IP network,.In addition to security holes of IP network, security holes in H.323 can cause media streams to be intercepted , its integration can also be broken maliciously. [ 3] Therefore, we have to protect not only the signaling information in video conference system but also the audio and video data. The common way to provide security for the multi-media streams on IP network is to use the embedded enciphering/deciphering modules with the H.323 video conference systems. However, an embedded enciphering/deciphering module has the flaws that it can only be designed and used for a specified product and it is also difficult to be upgraded. In this paper, the security problems in video conference systems are studied. More specifically, a general-purpose external multi-media encryption device for video conference system by implementing the security related part of H.235v3 protocol is designed. This device is independent of any specific video conference systems and it is also transparent to the switches, routers and firewalls on the network. The above advantages make it widely used today. Because the interfaces offered by different cipher chips are different.,to offer uniform interface for all kinds of cryptography, this paper designs a common security plan. In this paper, firstly the framework of this platform is described, then IP multimedia data are encryped using this common security plan. |
