SDH management network which is based on IP protocol is the trend ofSMN. This project ues general TCP/IP to build on DCC+PPP, which composethe new ECC protocol stack. It fully uses the universality, compatibility andexpansibility of TCP/IP protocol, and gives a very good reference to thosewho want to build an uniform SDH management network protocol stack. How to make sure the fluency of the DCC is one of the key techniques ofthis project. This paper defines the structure of the SDH managementnetwork based on IP protocol clearly, and according analyse of DCCtechnique realization both on software and hardware, bring out the problemthat DCC channel can not communicate succesefully if there is two kinds ofchannel type: D1-D3(Regenerator Section Overhead) and D4-D12(MultiplexerSection Overhead). This paper studies the character of DCC conmmunication and PPPprotocol, and invents a negotiation protocol to negotiate the byte type of DCCautomaticly. This protocol uses the idea of TCP three-handshake and PPPprotocol for reference. By exchanging a little information in a short time, itcan choose the best channel type for DCC communication automaticly, andensure it going on well. This paper also gives details of the realization of thisprotocol, and validates its function and compatibility though tests.Besides, this paper also describes the OSI model of ECC protocol stackwhich is proposed by G.784 by ITU-T, compares it with ECC protocol stackbased on TCP/IP and other kinds of ECC protocol stack deeply. It gives theadvantages and disadvantages of each, and finally gets the reasons for usingTCP/IP protocol both on theory and practice.
