Fractal Compression Based On Mpeg-4 Video Encoding Technology Research

With the rapid developing of computer technology, especially, multi-mediatechnology, the electronic products, communication devices, radio and TV andcomputer technology are tightly integrated, and it is an inevitable trend that thecomputer, communication and amusement synchronized. Because of that, so theindustry of multi-media has become one of the most rapidly increasing and thelargest scale industry.But, all the applications of multi-media must be based on the datacompression, which is because the capacity of data is very large, and it'simpossible or practical to increase the memory capacity or increase thetransmission rate. So the data compression is a good idea. That is, we canconserve data or transmit data after compressing them, and we can economize thespace of data storage, improve the transmission efficiency of the communicationtrunk and process real-time audio, video information using computer to ensurehigh quality program of audio and video and so on. So the compression ofmulti-media data is necessary.In this paper, it firstly analyses the development procedure and status in quoof the technology of digital video compression, then describes the all parts ofMPEG-4 standard, especial the video coding technology of the MPEG-4, such asthe shape coding, the motion estimation, and so on, then analyses the theorymodel and coding procedure of Fractal technology.Based on the advantage and shortcoming of MPEG-4 and Fractal technology,in this paper, it gives out a new technology. And the new technology is based onMPEG-4 frame, and absorbs the idea of Fractal theory. In the technology, itdivides up the visual object and coding it using Fractal idea, and estimates themotion vector of moving visual object then coding it, not based the standardtechnology of MPEG -4. In the paper, it also proves the new coding technologyof its feasibility and validity. In the end, it gives out software of test model totestify the new technology given out in this paper, and then lays out the result oftest data.Because the technology of video compression is very complex, there aremany shortcomings in this paper, and it needs much amelioration.
