As a kind of high resolution radar, Inverse synthetic apertureradar(ISAR) can image the target at all-weather, whole day hour andlong-distance,and has been vast applied in the military and in publicrealms regardless. In military, the ISAR technique research can raise theour army to identify the ability to various military targets, setting upNMD system; In public, it can use to carry on to various star body in thewireless astronomy be like the research, can also used for the air trafficcontrol of the passenger jet field and the condition surveillance of theportHowever, the ISAR technology still exist a lot of problems, a lot ofresults just aim at the particular circumstance. First of all, for thehigh-speed target, such as missiles, satellites, it is different to obtain thesatisfied ISAR image. Secondly, traditionally, we adopt the SAR systemmodel to analyze ISAR system, however, for ISAR system, since thetarget is more complicated than that of SAR, 2D models can't express thetarget's characteristics, and a 3D model is need. 3D models will lead intoa lot of problem, such as the shadow examination, the rotation of targetetc. On the other hand, in the term of SAR imaging problem, the target(ground) moves with a single speed relative to the radar; while there maybe many targets (e.g. aircrafts, missiles, satellites, balloons and birds etc.)with different speeds in the ISAR radiation pattern, that is to say, theISAR data may contain the information of several targets with differentspeed relative to the radar, and it makes the cross-range imaging of ISARmore difficult than that of SAR.The main contributions of the dissertation are as follows:1. According to the EM theory, a formula on the Sinclair matrix ispresented, matches the theory soundly and provides a base for the ISARraw data simulation.2. Built up 3D models of the ISAR system, and analyze the model indetail; Put forward a kind of shadow examination method for arbitrarygeometry.
