With the development of wide-band radar technology, more and more attentions are paid to inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR). During the past two decades, ISAR theory and technique have got great development and it is applied to practical system. Although ISAR technology has been studied for a long time, there are some problems remained in designing and using the ISAR technology for space target two-dimensional imaging.In this thesis, first, the principle of ISAR is introduced, discussing three steps in ISAR imaging in details (including envelope alignment, phase compensation and imaging), and some of the practical methods are summarized. Then ISAR system designing of space-target imaging is analyzed, in which how to select the important parameters in ISAR system, how to generate wide-band signal and how to process the distortion in the processing period are mainly discussed. Simulation analyzing and the experiment result are also given. In the following, the image processing methods in high speed moving target and rotation target are analyzed. At last, a real project example is given and the imaging result of a space station is showed.
