PHS short for Personal Handyphone System. It adopt cell technology, the user (Handyphone) can access local telephone network by wireless, and the traditional fixed phone not be limited anymore,it can free move in the cover range. The smart base station are developed to improve capability. The Smart base employ antenna wave aim at moving user and tracking the user, this can gain plus in cover range, system capacity, sensitivity and so on.The paper is made up of five chapter. Chapter 1 introduce the produce, the development and the structure of PHS. It analyse the development direction, with emphasis on the problem of coexistence with 3G . Chapter 2 introduce the theory of the smart base station and the smart antenna. Chapter 3 confirm the radio frequency standard according to protocol. Chapter 4 discuss the designing of the radio frequency, introducing the function of some circuit. And describe the design of digital phase phase shifters. Finally is the debugging process and testing result, listing the problem and the resolvent about designing.By testing, it entirety satisfy the protocol standard. The base station solve the problem because good receiver. The base station can cover with 1Km in using, it achieve anticipative goal. It can cover with more if use smart base station.
