The optics and optoelectronics method used for non-touched measurement of content for composite material has several merits, such as celerity, free from pollution etc., but traditional optics analysis instrument can not completely meet the requirement of automation and in-situ measurement.This paper has developed a mini spectrum detection system (MSDS) using optical multi-sensor array and USB bus, which overcomes some disadvantages of traditional optics analysis instrument in big volume, high cost, simplex function and low examination efficiency. The detailed system scheme is presented, including the software and hardware design. The software involves driven program design, firmware program design and appliance program design. The hardware is composed of the sensor conditional circuit and the interface circuit. The sensor conditional circuit achieves signal generation, signal adjustment and signal amplification and signal filter. The interface circuit includes AD μ C812 and its expanding storage component, locks & save component, PDIUSBD12 with RS232 from which data is transmitted. The principle circuit diagram is plotted by PROTEL 99 SE.and it is made into a PCB board. The experiments tested the system with excellent performances on cubage, weight and power consumption. It is able to communicate with PC by RS232 interface as well as USB interface, and can be supplied by USB conveniently. Finally, the sample aqua experiment verifyed the possibility of the system.
