A Policy-based Mobile Agent Control Technology

It is a new-type distribution computing technology to mobile agent technology, it has remedied the deficiency of the traditional the client/server technology, there are enormous application prospects . A lot of achievements in research of mobile agent has already made at present, but it still has a lot of weak points, such as, it is difficult to expand and reuse the function of mobile Agent, once Agent is sent, it is difficult to control mobile agent, causing a great deal of inconvenience to user. To these questions, this paper has carried on deep ground research to some key technology about mobile agent, the groundwork and achievement include:[1] This paper has encapsulated most functions of Agent in the policies, separating the functions of Agent from Agent oneself. In order to increase or reduce functions, user can load or cancel corresponding policies. This way make the functions of mobile agent more reusable, flexible, and bring very great convenience to user.[2] This paper uses the technology of mailbox , makes the messages that will be mailed to Agent separate from Agent itself, leaving in a certain place alone, avoids the losing of messages.[3] This paper has researched the most popular Ponder policies at present, and found that it was not suitable to encapsulate functions of mobile agent with Ponderpolicies, so this paper has proposed a method--encapsulate functions of mobileagent with XML policies. Experiments prove that XML policy has more advantage than Ponder policy , is suitable for encapsulation of the function of mobile agent.[4] This paper realized an experiment platform BPMACP in order to test mobile agent based on policies, and carried on some representative experiments at this platform. These experiments show that mobile agent based on policy (realized with XML) is feasible technically, the more important is that it brings very great convenience to user on the basis of keeping performance, saves a large amount of time for user.
