In the Third Generation mobile communication , to develop the using of frequency spectrum , enlarge the capability of the system, expend the radiation of the base station , improve the quality of the communication and reduce the electromagnetic pollution. Smart Antenna has two critical tasks, one is to filter the uplink signals , and the other is to form the downlink beam . Adaptive algorithm is one of the most important technology of Smart Antenna, In this paper, we compare some algorithms. Then , we use MUSIC algorithm and ROOT-MUSIC algorithm to filter the uplink signals, and get the DOA of the signals, at the same time, we compare the performance of these two algorithms . MUSIC algorithm is the classical algorithm to Spectral analysis . and it has many virtues except that the algorithm need relative time to seek the peak of the signal spectrum, however, ROOT-MUSIC algorithm need to seek the root of the spectrum .The presence of mutual coupling severely degrades the performance of an adaptive array ,A simple method based on obtaining an coupling matrix, C, to compensate for the coupling characteristic mode in conjunction with an element-by-element analysis of finite arrays .The method significantly reduce the computational effort in calculating the unknowns . Its application to the MUSIC algorithm results in good and efficient performance.Application the ROOT-MUSIC to the low RCS Radar wave results in efficient performance . In this paper comparison of Monosatatic and Bistatic bearing estimation performance for low RCS targets . and introduce the performance of it's stability.
