With the rapid development of wireless communication technology, the wireless communication system performance requirements more and more high.But in reality, the problems of complex electromagnetic environment greatly influences of the mobile communication system.The use of smart antenna can solve the problems.Precision of Angle Of Arrival(AOA) of the smart antenna estimation has great influence on the performance of the antenna, at the same time. With the continuous development of array signal processing technology, researches of the AOA estimation algorithm are extremely of importance in the mobile communication system.For traditional AOA estimation algorithm, this paper mainly studied the Bartlett AOA estimation, Capon AOA estimation and linear prediction AOA estimation.For simulation experiments for signal-noise ratio,the number of array element, incident angle and other factors of performance of the three algorithms,it show that,the linear prediction AOA estimation method is far better than Bartlett AOA estimation and Capon AOA estimation in performance.This paper mainly studied the AOA estimation of MUSIC algorithm,the characteristics of MUSIC algorithm have high resolution, high accuracy and good stability. In order to remove the affection of noise characteristics and the Larger of search space, this paper puts forward the improved Root-MUSIC algorithm.Simulation experiments for signal-noise ratio, the number of sampling, the number of array element, incident angle and other factors on affecting the performance of MUSIC algorithm and the improved Root-MUSIC show that improved Root-MUSIC algorithm is valid.
