Web-based Data Mining Technology

In recent years, with the development at full speed of science and technology, economy and society have made great progress, meanwhile, which has produced a large amount of data in each field. The increasing sharply data leads to the fact that a lot of important information is hidden. People are no longer satisfied with the inquiry function of the data base. They hope to carry on more high-level analysis to it, in order to draw information or knowledge to serve for making policy from the data. The present data base system can realize the functions, such as inputting, inquiry the data and statistics of the data, etc. high-efficiently, but the relation and rule existing in the data is unable to be found. Besides it is unable to predict the future development trend according to the existing data too. It is lack of the means to excavate the hidden knowledge from data that causes the phenomenon that "the data has exploded but knowledge is poor". Traditional statistics technology also faces a great challenge. So some new method has to be found to deal with the magnanimity data badly. It is Data Mining that arises at the historic moment. Despite Data Mining is a new technology which appeared recent years, it has been used in decision support and marketing strategy for enterprises. Data Mining will become important parts of Decision Supporting System (DSS).Internet is a huge, widely distributed, global information service centre at present. It involves news, advertisement, consumption information, financial management, education, government, e-commerce and a lot of other information service. Web contains a rich and dynamic collection of hyperlink information and Web page access and usage information, providing rich sources for Data Mining. Web Mining is the traditional Data Mining technology used in Web, attempting to find implicative, unknown and non-trivial schema which has potential application from the innumerable Web file assembly and the data information which can be gotten when the user browse Web. With Web Mining, the speed and precision of information services can be improved greatly.This paper summarizes Data Mining technology. On the basis of introducing Web Mining technology in detail, this paper analyzes and studies emphatically the Web Content Mining, Web Structure Mining and Web Usage Mining. Besides this paper gives an application system based on Web Mining.
