In recent years, multisensor image fusion techniques have attracted extensive attention in remote sensing application and image project area. Multisensor remotely sensed image fusion technique can combine multisensor images and produce a more precise, integrated and reliable estimation and description of them than a single image. This paper focuses on image fusion between SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) images and TM (Thematic Mapper) images , In order to enhance the result image's spatial resolution with preserving spectral information, and gets such fresh ideas as:1. This modified algorithm is on the base of IHS fusion technique, combines IHS method and Feature product, and then an improved IHS image fusion method is proposed. Compared with the results of several common fusion techniques through a set of simulation tests, it is proved that the new method can get an excellent result for the aim of improving spatial resolution while preserving the spectral information of multispectral images. Due to its simpleness, the proposed approach is more applicable for fast interactive processing and real time visualization.2. Stressing the research on the details of algorithm based on wavelet transform, an improved wavelet image fusion method is proposed. Combining IHS transform and wavelet transform, the new fusion method is merged with Feature product and Match measure-based fusion method. The experimental result indicates that the new method is effective, and it enhances spatial detail information of the fusion image largely and preserves spectral information of the original TM image well.
