More and more measurement and control systems apply network technology for its merits. According to the trend, this paper puts forward a distributed measurement and control system which based on Ethernet and Internet technology. In this kind of measurement and control system, a high speed Ethernet is used as spot sub-system, another Ethernet as information sub-system and Internet as remote sub-system. On the basis of it, the paper analyzes carefully the software system architecture of the distributed measurement and control system based on network and establishes the framework of the thermal power torpedo propulsion testing and simulation system. In the spot sub-system, an 8-bit MCU is applied to implement the embedded TCP/IP protocol to transfer the gathered data and receive the command from monitor computer. The monitor software is divided into real-time data operation part and history data handling part. The paper supplies the different solutions for the two parts. JSP, EJB and SQLServer datebase technology is for operation of history data as well as Java Applet and Socket technology for real time data in the information sub-system and HTML for presentation on Internet. In designing of monitor software, the paper pays attention to using some design patterns to make it better.This paper applies the architecture of the distributed measurement and control system based on network to the study of the thermal power torpedo propulsion measurement and control system. The achievement of the paper has an important reference value and practice meaning for the study of advanced thermal power torpedo propulsion measurement and control system and other measurement and control system.
