The starting part includes Chapter 1 and Charter2.We begin with the introduction of the embedded system and its application in network area, then comes with our network solution based on ARM+uClinux. After that we give a brief introduction for the ARM architecture and analyse the choice of ARM chips from the points of system function and development condition in details. Finally we give a sign for the hardware development system.The second part includes Chapter3.The chart of the solution is bring forward and it is divided into several modules including Ethernet interface, I~2C interface and UART interface. The operating principles and circuits of the modules are introduced while we put the emphasis on the Ethernet interface module.The third part include Chapter4.Based on the brief instruction of the set of instructions of ARM, some software module such as I~2C communication, interrupt service routine, UART communication and Flash on-line program was introduced by details.The final part includes Chapter5,Chapter6 and Chapter7.The content of this part is all for uClinux. The kernel will be configured, cut and then complied. But BootLoader necessary because it will load kernel to the target system. In this paper, we also discuss on the communication software design for uClinux.This paper put emphasis on job as below:The implement of the hardware and software module of our embedded systemPorting uClinux to the embedded systemThe network communication design base on the uClinux.
