HDTV (high definition television) technology integrates the most advanced image compressed encoding technology and the digital communication technology. It has become one of the focuses in the high-tech competitions. DVB is the digital HDTV standard that developed by more than 170 organizations in Europe. It mainly comprises satellite, terrestrial and cable digital television systems.This paper focuses on the construction of the whole DVB-C modulator system and the realization of the core algorithm.In this paper, chapter one makes a brief introduction of the history and the content of DVB standard.Based on the basic principles used in DVB-C modulator, chapter two makes a deep discuss of the realization of these principles mentioned above in FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array).Chapter three describes the intimidate frequency module, control module, radio frequency module etc on this modulator. In the end, a specified measurement procedure is designed for this modulator. After we testing the whole system, detail results was recorded and analyzed.The final chapter is a conclusion of the whole project. The judgment about the success and shortage of this design is made.
