The availability of inexpensive and powerful graphics cards as well as fast Internet connections make collaborative virtual environments viable for millions of users and many new applications. The recent proliferation of heterogeneous computing devices and wireless network technology presents new opportunities for Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW). Which make collaborative heterogeneous collaborative virtual environments(heterogeneous CVE) impossible to realize , heterogeneous CVE support ubiquitous collaboration, So it can provide widespread access to shared services through a variety of interactive devices, irrespective of whether individuals are mobile or deskbound. However, developing groupware that is interoperable across diverse, often mobile, environments can be difficult and costly. The fundamental issue is that current application architecture for CVE are not operable within emerging ubiquitous settings. This paper explores this problem and presents a generic heterogeneous CVE platform that promotes new forms of collaboration through mobility and ever-present computing services. And we put forward an novel adaptive filtering mechanism which allowing a large number of users to participate in a heterogeneous CVE The current filtering mechanism using region-, cell-, or locale-based approaches are failed to Handle this problem because they ignore the heterogeneity of device and will make slower nodes overload. So we put forward a role based adaptive filtering mechanism of our scheme is to allow slower nodes to participate in the session by preventing fast nodes from flooding slow nodes with too many messages. Policies and users' preferences can be expressed as simple linear equations forming a model that describes the system as a whole as well as its individual components. When solutions to this model are mapped back to the problem domain, viable solutions that accommodate heterogeneity and system policies are obtained. For example, slower nodes may receive less frequent updates than faster ones for one or several information streams. We also study on the consistency control mechanism in the heterogeneous CVE. The current consistency control mechanism in CVE are mostly run on the PC platform. So we put forward an novel consistency control mechanism using operation transform, by transform user operation and state update message to user state increment message we make the combination of the concurrent user events possible, and provide concurrent operate on the same object at the same time. As before the concurrent operate on the same object at same time is the main reason of the inconsistency, but in our mechanism by combination of the concurrent event, it is legal and will not lead to inconsistency.
