Passive detection system has long ranging, high concealing and survival ability, due to not emitting electromagnetic wave. In recent years, many new techniques have been developed. Because of the little information available, the conventional passive location techniques for direction finding are low in speed and precision. This often makes it difficult to fulfill the practical requirements for location specifications. Therefore, the research on mono-station passive location necessitates the introduction of new measurement information to explore innovative location methods.This thesis studies a novel method for mono-station passive location with high speed and precision. The measurement information we used includes the direction information of observation and the phase variant information of radiation wave from radiation source measured by a two-element antenna array (interferometer). The performance is analyzed, graph of geometric dilution of precession (GDOP) is simulated for different location parameters, different measurement errors, and different target heights. At the same time, the passive location filtering algorithm in three-dimensional(3-D) space is developed.At the end of this thesis, another passive location method of variant of Doppler frequency is discussed, which is expected to enforce the tactical performance of in the intending development.
