After honeycomb mobile telephone appeared, mobile communication technologies develop very quickly. Following the first generation analog mobile communication systems, such as TACS and AMPS, and the second generation digital mobile communication systems, such as GSM and cdmaone, the third generation mobile communication systems, 3G for short, are coming to people's lives. 3G mainly employ Code Division Multiple Access technology. Its main standards are TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and cdma2000. cdma2000 can realize the real smooth transition from 2G (cdmaone: IS-95) to 3G (cdma2000) and from base station to corenet, and has many strongpoints, such as mature technologies, low cost, being commercial rapidly, the biggest throughput, so cdma2000 is the strongest competitor in all 3G standards, and the researchs for it become very hot. Now our group are researching cdma2000, and the emphasis is on the performance of base station in cdma2000 1x. cdma2000 1x is the first project becoming IS-95 to cdma2000. Its system is made up of base station transceiver system, base station controller, packet control function, packet digital switch node, and so on. Transceiver block (TRXB) is an important part of base station transceiver system, and its performance will directly impact base station and the whole system. According to the Third Generation Partnership Project 2(3GPP2), noise figure, 1dB compression point, single tone desensitization, third order intermodulation, selectivity, spurious responses and phase noise of 800MHz base station transceiver system in cdma2000 1x are researched in three ways in this article. 1. Particularly analyse the principles and the calculations of each index in the theoretics, mathematics and graphs. Combining theory with practice, analyse each index about the receiver in TRXB of 800MHz base station transceiver system.2. Bring forward the measuring methods and attentions of each index in engineering. According to them, test results of TRXB are listed.3. The ways of improving each index are given, based on the principles, testing results and ADS simulations. This project was completed through the collaborations with some famous communication equipment company . The analyzing results of products are accepted by the company. The testing methods and some improvements are applied to the products, and the better effects are gained. This article is in favor of improving the RF performance of not only digital receivers in cdma 2000 base station but also other receivers.
