This thesis mainly studies the problem of Translational Motion Compensation of Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar(ISAR) imaging for maneuvering targets. Our research mainly concentrates on the two respects of Translational Motion Compensation ,Envelope alignment and Autofocus. In the end, we do some computer simulation with real data of three kind of airplanes. The existing ISAR imaging research is direct against on steady moving targets. When targets moving maneuverly, the commonly used methods of Translational Motion Compensation receive certain restriction. Although the method of envelope alignment direct against on steady moving targets is still effective for not too big maneuvering targets, sometimes in real data processing, especially for maneuvering targets, we can meet some unsuccessful examples. In this paper, based on the envelope correlation algorithm, through the analyze of the properties of high-resolution range profiles(HRRP), using iterative envelope correlation algorithm to reduce the drift error and the influence of "sudden Jump phenomenon". Using the similar theory, we use iterative method in coherent summation autofocus to enhance the precision of focus. The computer simulation using the ISAR data of three target shows that the images quality improved by the translational motion compensation of this thesis's method compared with those by the existing translational motion compensation method, images can be easier distinguish. The results of real data processing show that the methods used in this thesis are effective.
