With the rapid development of IT industry, there is so enormous information that the traditional technology doesn't be fitted for the demand any more, which requires high-speed, real-time and great accounts of data stream information exchanges. A new project has been put forward, in which the DSP is used to be a controller in allusion to some problems in these geophysics exploration instruments, such as incovenience used outdoors, poor general availability and greater bulk etc. The instrument system for geophysics exploration based on traditional approach has two layers, the bottom layer is used to control and the upper layer is for realization algorithm. The new approach take two layers together and finish two tasks completely with only one floating DSP. This is the first time for IAG of CSU to use DSP in this area and this is a innovation in the instrument design.The paper confirms the project based floating DSP in presenting the domestic and overseas statues of instrument development. After the traditional system is introduced, the hardware design and implement of new system is dicussed, such as the whole complement design, DSP selection, the configuration of external memory interface, the connection of keyboard interface, LCD display and communication interface etc.thesis emphasise particularly on method of way of thinking, hardware design and hardware debug. Firstly, it introduces the composition and system structure of a common instrument used in electric method including analog parting, micprocessor part and sofeware system. Secondly it investigates the hardware design and software development of a general-purpose instrument system based on DSP. Lastly, the subject has been summarized. The problem of connection of fast-speed DSP and low-speed interface chip 82c55 is solved specially.
