In this paper, the video acquisition and data processing system is designed for image recognition. TI's TMS320VC5402 DSP IC chip is used as the central processor of the system so that the video acquisition, video image extract and data analysis can be integrated into one system. The system is made up of analog video signal conditioning circuits , video ADC(Analog to Digital Converter) module, video acquisition and time-sequence logic control module, video storage module and serial communication module. With favorable universality and expansibility, this system can be applied in various occasions that are relevant to video acquisition and data processing.A complete hardware design and detailed software flow charts are introduced in this paper. Some points that need attention are also discussed fully.
