Photoelectric Real-time Pattern Recognition Technology

Optical pattern recognition, because of its real-time, parallel-processing feature, has been widely applied in national defensive technology, auto-control and character recognition increasingly. With the development of pattern recognition, its research object changed from simple target to complex target. Target recognition in natural background is important to military science technology and auto-control. Because of the inherent feature of optical pattern recognition, it is quite difficult to realize target recognition in natural background. At the same time, the electronic technology has played an important role in the aspect of pattern recognition. Therefore, the method which combines the optics and electronics technology has come into the leading roll in the pattern recognition. In this paper, the principle and the technology of joint transform correlation(JTC) are firstly addressed. Then discuss the image processing technology in detail, Following introduce how to develop the software of the image processing system based on DSP. Finally, the result of the experiment was presented.
