Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) so called Distributed Virtual Reality (DVR), is the combination of Virtual Reality (VR) and technique of network. It is one of the focuses in the field of VR. Since the research plan SIMNET of Department of Defense of US (DOD) was put in practice, VR has been developed greatly. The Standards of DIS are the SIMNET' s expansion and standardization. The development of DIS makes the IEEE 1278 formed, which is the first standard for DIS. With the development of the technique of network and simulation, the DIS system based on DIS2.X couldn't satisfy the demand in the presence of new application requirement. So the DOD put forward the universal technique framework for the DIS of next generation in 1996, which is called HLA.Some background information is presented, and the three component of HLA is presented in detail in this thesis. The data filtration technique in HLA is studied and the research on strategies in data distribution management services has been emphasized. Then the thinking of filtering data and controlling flux of network is used in a multi-robot simulation system, and a communication server is designed for this system. According to the real requirement of simulation task, a proper system structure is designed for this multi-robot simulation system. Data package structure and a communication protocol are also designed for the communication between the server and the client of this system, and a data-matching algorithm which is fit for this system is devised for implementing the thinking of data filtration in HLA.
