Following the arriving of information era, embedded systems have been more andmore widely used in many fields. Embedded system is the dedicated systems with thecharacteristics of trade application, which are closely related with concrete application. Inthe fields of communication, there are many embedded applications. Thetelecommunication system equipment is the embedded equipment with the characteristicsof typical trade application in the fields of communication, and it has the characteristicsof distribution, concurrence, real time, great amount of information, high demand forresources, which has brought up higher demand for the development of embeddedsystems in the fields of telecommunication. Meanwhile, the requirement fortelecommunication business is changing constantly. So, how to develop softwarefulfilling the requirement effectively and quickly, is the problem we need to solve in theembedded software development in the fields of telecommunication. The embeddedsoftware development platform is the effective way to solve this problem, and this paperis focused on researching the related theory and implementation technology for embeddedsoftware development platform orientating toward the fields of telecommunication . The embedded software development platform orientating the fields oftelecommunications offer a intermediate layer between the CPU/OS and the applicationprogram, shield the bottom operating systems and hardware, and offer a uniform runningplatform for the upper application program. Meanwhile, it enlarges the functions of thebottom operating systems aiming at the characteristics of telecommunication fields, offersa concise and accordant interface for the application program, and decreases the needfor application developer to understand the bottom operating systems, so it can supportthe effective and efficient development for telecommunication software. For a long timepeople use the process technology for the development of embedded software, so usingthe object oriented technology, especially design pattern and framework to developembedded software is a new practice. First this paper analyzes the developmentcharacteristic of embedded systems and the embedded application characteristic oftelecommunication fields to point out the importance of the embedded software platformin development of telecommunication software. Following, we introduce the evolving ofembedded software development platform in telecommunication fields to present theimportance and feasibility of object oriented technology in the development oftelecommunication software. Based on the research of object oriented technology,especially design pattern and framework, we bring up a object oriented embeddedsoftware development platform model, and finish its implementation and testing, at lastwe introduce the application of this platform in a telecommunication product.
