Funded by the National Research Foundation and served as one item of the research of "Intelligent Self-Control of Flexible Space Structures", Integrated of flexible system, this paper investigated the optimal placement of sensors/actuators in flexible structure .Based on a duralumin flexible beam with piezoelectric films attached and the specialty of space flexible structures, distributed parameter modal described by partial difference equations is builded, and then turned into a set of slate equation with the method of modal analyse..According to state equation and lyapunov equation, Based on energy ,A rule of optimal placement of sensors/actuators is setted up.then, the theory is validated according to simulation .And simulation of the closed-loop system with state feedback control is performed in MATLAB. Control software of the beam system is improved. In experiment, state feedback control is used and is verified by the well suppressed vibration of the flexible beam. The result validated the validity and feasibility of the rule of optimal placement of sensors/actuators.
