Smart antenna is one of the key techniques of the third generation of mobile communication. In this dissertation, it studies three aspects in the application of smart antenna. Firstly a new approach is presented of optimum beamforming in the presence of coherent interferences. By introducing the high level restriction while constructing the transformation matrix, the robustness is achieved to the estimation errors of source directions. Secondly the Relax algorithm is proposed for the unambiguous omnidirectional estimation in 3D linear array. Finally the broadband beamforming is considered. The method is analyzed for the design of broadband array with frequency invarianct beam pattern by using DFT interpolation. Based on minimum pattern difference between a certain frequency and the reference frequency, the LMS algorithm is applied in broadband beamforming. Computer simulation is carried out to validate the above feasibilities by the research tool of the software MATLAB. |
