Design, Embedded Operating System Of The C5471-based Hardware Platform

This thesis focuses on the using of TMS320VC5471, which is a new type product of the Texas Instruments. The C5471 is fairly different from common DSP chips for its dual core architecture with one ARM7 core and one C54X DSP core integrated in a single chip.The ARM7 core has the advantage of supporting most embedded real time operation systems (RTOS) in markets, and the C54X DSP is good at processing digital signal in high speed. The C5471 is made to collect both the ARM7's and C54X DSP's good qualities.A hardware platform, which is based on the C5471, has been developed. The detail architecture of the platform as well as the solutions of implements of those functions of C5471 such as LAN module, SPI module, is discussed in sequence in this thesis. Additionally, the ARM7's feature and some application notes with source codes are also offered in this thesis.
