As an important component of the security defense, the monitor system plays a vital role. This thesis aims to research the design and implement of the digital monitor system which accords with the current developing trend.First, the thesis introduces the research background and significance of the project, and summarizes the advantages of the digital monitor system. It's pointed out that the analog monitor system is bound to be replaced by the digital one, and the key techniques in the system are referred to.Second, some techniques in the digital surveillance system, including audio and video codec. TCP/IP protocol and IP multicasting, are introduced in the paper. At the same time, the Trimedia are referred to, which is a powerful media signal processor and used in the system largely, and the programming API is specified, too.Third, the paper briefly analogizes the system structure of the DVR1.0 (Digital Video Recorder) and module partition, and summarizes each module's function.At last, the thesis puts its emphasis on the design and development of the digital monitor system with Client/Server framework. Some key problems, such as the communication process between the client and the server, the alarm detecting and recording, the control of the remote devices, the synchronization between the audio and video in the playback and the implement process, are illustrated in detail.The DVR1.0, the digital monitor system with Client/Server framework, could be used in the remote monitor and has the extensive applied foreground.
