Based on the basic theory of acoustics, this thesis investigates the mathematical modeling of the underwater acoustic channel using the ray-theory model. The main work is the solution of the ray-tracing, eigenrays and transmission loss under varying ocean bottom conditions. This thesis also completed the mathematical modeling and the computer software implementation. Moreover, according to the require of the practical application, this thesis designed a software for computing the ray-tracing and the searching of the eigenrays using C language. And this thesis developed a software of computing the transmission loss using C++ language , matcom and matlab. The simulation results of the practical data are satisfied. The code is fast , extensive and reusable.This thesis provides a convenient implementation method for the underwater acoustic field simulation by combining the knowledge in the field of underwater acoustic channel simulation and advanced computer techniques.
