Abstract/Summary:
Global System for Mobile (GSM) is the first cellular communication system to specify digital modulation and network architectures and services. The number of countries that use the GSM system is more than 179 today. There are more than 200 million GSM mobile phone users in China the late 2002. And China has established the biggest GSM system in the world. The great number of GSM mobile phones brings a profitable market for GSM Mobile Phone Test Set.The project is to develop GSM Mobile Phone Test Set that deal with the implementation of GSM standards, such as 0.3 GMSK modulation and demodulation, channel coding and decoding, radio interface signaling, and etc. And these parts are of the most importance and difficulty in developing the GSM mobile phone test set.In this thesis, the 0.3 GMSK modulation and Interrupts Service Routine are implemented with DSP assembly language.In chapter 1, the importance of developing GSM mobile phone test set is presented. And the hardware and software systems as well as the DSP emulating systems are introduced briefly.In chapter 2, the principle of GMSK modulation is given in detail based on the discussion of various digital modulation techniques used in mobile communications.Chapter 3 deals with the DSP assembly language implementation of 0.3 GMSK for GSM Mobile Phone Test Set. Experiment results with 16 bit fixed point DSP (TMS320VC5409) are presented to show the efficiency of the DSP program.Chapter 4 deals with the implementation and debugging of ISR (Interrupts Service Routine), and the FPGA schematic design of its logic circuits is discussed as well.
