In virtual scene, the object's positioning and 3-d object's LOD( level of detail)modeling are two crucial advanced technologies among virtual reality , 3-d visualization simulation graphical monitoring and controlling which are most lull of developmental potentiality.This article deduces a method which can resolve the spatial object's coordination using some object's known conditions on one camera platform, and a new method to realize the spatial object's coordinate positioning using the least square solution, and analyzes the precision on the basis of numeric simulation.This article gives an overview for the modeling method and LOD model classification based on large number of literatures, gives a new simplification rate standard from the needle orifice camera method, and gives many new utilitarian viewpoints on using map to simplify model and to show the detail of surface, and summarizes the valuable experiences of modeling in engineering practice.The research outcome of this article has important value to object's positioning in virtual scene and modeling technology in electric transform station perambulate simulation.
