The technology of E-Government is a new technology of computer application, which realize the electronic governance and social service by the information technology and network technology. It's an important base to the innovation of the government system and the functions of the goverment. In the paper, the author emphasized how can we port the traditional OA to the open Web platform on the self-designed OS, and after studied the relational, key technology, the author implemented the main middleware platform.Linux, the source code of which is open and shanred, has been the main basic platform of National E-G building with its excellent performance, and its has made it possible to construct an secure, continuing developmental E-G platform. It's predictable that, the works of National E-G construction will be carried out upon Linux OS. So, designing OA with middleware technology and B/S mode upon Linux OS will to be the main pattern. And reconstructing the traditional OA systems that has been validated in practice to suit the new platform and application mode is to accord with the requirement of the continuing development of O A technology.And in the thesis, the author discussed the architecture and the technical principle of the traditional 2-tier C/S mode detailedly, moreover analysed the defect in such architecture. And at the same time , the author studied the application mode, characteres, and interfaces of OA system, which is based on middleware and B/S technology. After the study, the author brought forward the practical projects to port the OA from traditional C/S mode to the middleware mode on Linux.In the paper, the author also discussed the porting technology cross the different platforms deeply. And the whole project includes two parts: Virtual Machine Technology and Reconstruction of Source Code Technology. After having analysed and compared the different OSs, the author proposed some scheme to reconstruct the source code by virtual API with some idea from VM. Further more, the author demonstrated the feasibility of these projects in terms of technology and application, and chosed the project based on the XML message-oriented middleware and application server as the practical one. After we have realized the chosed project, we gived out the experiment result of this.Our research about this topic was supported by the project, Port the exsiting OA from traditional C/S mode to Linux based B/S mode, which is one sub-project of Nantional YangFan Project, the project to optimize performance of Desk-oriented Linux OS. The research of this project is very valuable to project application in the progress of National E-government.
